Two cases of tuberculosis have occurred in the vicinity of a daycare center in Dresden. The two people affected have been isolated and are being treated in hospital, according to the Dresden city administration.
The health department is investigating a total of 160 people associated with the daycare center. It cannot be ruled out that other people may have contracted the lung disease. The first reliable results should be available in a week's time.
Tuberculosis is very rare in Germany. According to the city administration, infections were detected in 34 people in Dresden last year. In 2023, 18 cases were registered.
