Saxony's Ministry of Social Affairs supports project for young offenders

The Saxon Ministry of Social Affairs is supporting a project for young offenders with around 500,000 euros. The "S.A.V.E. - Strafen ausgleichen - Verantwortung entwickeln" (S.A.V.E. - Offsetting Punishments - Developing Responsibility) project helps young people aged 14 to 21 to fulfill their court-ordered work requirements, according to a statement from the ministry.

A brochure for the project states that the young people are helped with contacting and dealing with authorities and offices. Social Affairs Minister Petra Köpping is due to hand over the funding decision on Monday. The project is one of five funded model projects.
