Christoph Baumgartner scores for Austria after just seven seconds, faster than anyone before him. He will be in the starting eleven against Mainz on Saturday.

His record-breaking goal for the national team has earned Christoph Baumgartner a starting berth for RB Leipzig. The Austrian will start in attack alongside Lois Openda in the Bundesliga match against FSV Mainz 05 on Saturday (15:30/Sky). Willi Orban will start in the center of defense. The captain missed both of Hungary's games during the international break due to adductor problems.

Baumgartner, on the other hand, played well for Austria. In the test match in Slovakia, the 24-year-old scored after around seven seconds, faster than anyone before him for the Austria selection.

According to the ORF archive, the Leipzig professional's goal was even the fastest goal of all international matches played worldwide to date. According to ORF, the previous fastest goalscorer was Belgium's Christian Benteke, who scored in 8.1 seconds against Gibraltar in the World Cup qualifier in Faro on October 11, 2016. Florian Wirtz then squeezed in between Baumgartner and Benteke, whose lead for Germany against France was stopped by hand in just under eight seconds.
