Two late goals conceded cost FC Erzgebirge Aue what they thought was a certain home win. The third-division soccer club lost 1:2 (0:0) against SC Verl on Friday evening. In front of 7703 spectators at the Erzgebirgsstadion, Marvin Stefaniak (67th minute) had initially put the hosts ahead before Maximilian Wolfram (90th) and Mael Corboz (90.+1) turned the game around.

The Veilchen started the game well. After a cross from Marco Schikora, Marcel Bär got on the end of it but shot too high in the 10th minute. Linus Rosenlöcher had a similarly dangerous chance in the 16th minute when he struck a cross from Tim Danhof against the post of the Verl goal with a spectacular scissor kick. From this point on, Aue were the dominant team, but there were hardly any further chances to score until the break.

In the second half, both teams took things much more calmly - until the 67th minute: Aue's Boris Tashchy broke into the penalty area, but was stopped in accordance with the rules. Omar Sijaric then got hold of the free ball and passed to Marvin Stefaniak, who was left alone and only had to finish to make it 1:0.

Aue retreated far into their own half after the goal. Verl pressed hard for the equalizer, especially in the final minutes. And it was indeed scored by Wolfram in the final minute. Just one minute later, the visitors added another through Corboz.
