The basketball players of Niners Chemnitz have ruined their start to the "play-in" stage of the Champions League. The team from Saxony lost its game at Manisa Baskets from Turkey on Wednesday by 86:87 (41:35, 77:77) after overtime. Hugo Besson (27), Fabian White (24) and Saben Lee (20) played the biggest part in the Turks' success.
Jeff Garrett (20), Aher Uguak (19), William Christmas (14), Olivier Nkamhoau and Victor Bailey Jr. (10 each) scored the most points for Chemnitz. William Christmas missed the opposing side's basket with his last shot attempt.
The two opponents gave each other nothing. The Saxons did not allow themselves to be shaken by the 11:16 deficit and kept in touch. However, it was no longer enough for the big score. Chemnitz failed to score in crunch time.
