Dynamo Dresden suffered another setback in the 3rd division. After the 0:0 draw against Alemannia Aachen, the Saxons lost 1:2 (0:0) at Borussia Dortmund II. Jordi Paulina (46 minutes) put the home side ahead immediately after the break. After Christoph Daferner (66) equalized, Antonio Foti (77) scored the winner for the second team of this year's Champions League finalists with a shot into the corner of the goal. The game at the Rote Erde stadium was watched by 6,800 spectators, and although Dynamo remain top of the table with 17 points after the opening nine matchdays, they are in danger of losing this position to one of their rivals at the weekend. The Saxons had 73 per cent possession against Dortmund, but did not threaten to score in the first half.
BVB intercepted a Dresden clearance after the break, countered and surprisingly took the lead through Paulina. A free-kick from substitute Tony Menzel was headed home by Daferner 20 minutes later to equalize. SGD were rarely really dangerous after that. Foti then scored the winner for Dortmund, who had previously been winless five times.
