Dynamo Dresden missed out on a move to the top of the 3rd division table after losing 2-1 at Erzgebirge Aue in the prestigious Saxony derby.

Dynamo Dresden missed out on the jump to the top of the 3rd division table. The Elbe city team lost the prestigious Saxony derby at Erzgebirge Aue on Sunday with 1:2 (0:1). Dynamo were thus unable to take advantage of league leaders Jahn Regensburg's 3:6 slip-up at SV Sandhausen. In front of 15,000 spectators at the Erzgebirgsstadion, Marcel Bär (36th minute) gave the hosts the lead before Tim Danhof (77th minute) increased it. Dynamo only managed to score the equalizer through Robin Meißner (81').

The 100th derby - depending on how you count it - began very evenly. The Violets had the first chance in the 15th minute: Tim Danhof sent Bär through, but he was denied by Dynamo keeper Kevin Broll in a one-on-one. It was called offside, but wrongly so. Just two minutes later, the visitors from Dresden were able to counter after a mistake by Danhof, but were unable to convert it into anything tangible. Both teams lacked accuracy and creativity in the penalty area at this point.

In the 32nd minute, the game had to be briefly interrupted due to fan protests. After play resumed, Bär (36) then scored to make it 1-0. Kilian Jakob, who easily passed Claudio Kammerknecht on the baseline, found Bär, who scored into the right-hand corner to take the lead. After the changeover, Dynamo lacked pressure, creativity and ideas. In the 66th minute, even captain Stefan Kutschke, who had previously been described by Sören Gonther as a difference-maker on an "emotional level", had to be substituted.

Aue, on the other hand, were able to repeatedly create dangerous situations. Then Danhof again: Boris Tashchy played a precise cross to Danhof, who was running into the middle of the penalty area and just had to slot it in (77'). This goal seemed to have an effect on the visitors - Robin Meißner scored the equalizer in the 81st minute. However, Dynamo's final offensive remained ineffective.
