The Erzgebirge Aue has lost the anniversary game of goalkeeper Martin Männel. In the 500th game of the keeper, the third-division soccer club lost to SSV Ulm 1846 with 1:2 (1:0) in the home Erzgebirgsstadion. The scorers were Marcel Bär (1st) for the Violets and Leonardo Scienza (48th) and Philipp Maier (65th) for the Ulmers in front of 8106 spectators. For the violets it is the second defeat in the sixth home game of the season, the team thus slips to the fifth place in the table.

The game began with a bang: after just 49 seconds, Bär scored after a cross from Sean Seitz by head to 1:0. The early setback did not seem to unsettle the guests from Ulm, however, and so the first half was very balanced. The first task for jubilarian Männel came in the third minute, when he had to defuse a shot from six meters by Nicolas Jann. Shortly before halftime, Aue had two more good chances through Niko Vukancic (42.) and Marvin Stefaniak (44.), but it remained at the halftime score of 1:0.

The climber from Ulm started the second half as rapidly as Aue had started the first. Only three minutes after the restart Scienza (48.) scored to equalize. As Ulm remained the more active team, Maier rewarded himself in the 65th minute with his header to make it 2-1 for the visitors and turn the game around. In the last 15 minutes, Aue was the more active team, but could not equalize. In the third minute of stoppage time, Männel could shine once again with a save.
