Erzgebirge Aue remained winless for the second time in a row and have lost touch with the top of the 3rd Football League table.

Erzgebirge Aue remained winless for the second time in a row and have lost touch with the top of the 3rd Football League table. Pavel Dotchev's team were held to a goalless draw at neighbors SpVgg Unterhaching on Saturday. In front of 5,000 spectators at uhlsport PARK, Nico Vukancic missed a great chance to win with a header from close range (86th minute). Aue thus remain level on points behind Unterhaching in seventh place in the table.

Both teams had good opportunities to take the lead in the first half. Marvin Stefaniak (26) shot from a half-left position, but the ball only hit the post. The fact that the teams went into the break at 0-0 was mainly thanks to the two goalkeepers Martin Männel and René Vollath, who defused many situations.

The first notable goal for the home side came in the 62nd minute: Aaron Keller took a decisive shot, but Männel was able to deflect the ball away for a corner with his fingertips. In the 65th minute, Steffen Meuer tried to steer the ball from his own half towards the Haching goal in Kane style. However, the ball missed the goal by a few meters. Shortly before the end, Vukancic then missed a potential winner with a header - Vollath made a brilliant save. The scoreline was a fair reflection of the game. It was the fifth goalless game of the season for the Spielvereinigung.
