Two top games lost - and the mood at RB Leipzig is already low. Coach Rose has clear words for the team. The number of injured players is rising.

After two defeats in a row, RB Leipzig coach Marco Rose is clearly critical of the team. "We simply had too many deficiencies," said the coach about the defeats in Dortmund and Glasgow. "We have to be clear that it won't work like this. We have to become sharper and clearer."

On Friday afternoon, Rose gathered his team for a crisis meeting. "We will have to sit down together and realize that some things need to be done differently at this level," said the 48-year-old. On Saturday evening (18:30/Sky), Leipzig will host his former club Borussia Mönchengladbach in the top match of the Bundesliga.

"Like a rocket to the top"

They are in second place, which is why Rose's change of mood comes a little too quickly. "We're not happy ourselves," emphasized the coach. "We'd like to take off like a rocket to the top. But there are more dramatic situations in and around life. For me as a coach, it's important to put things in perspective. It's all there. We just have to call on it."

On Wednesday, after the deserved 3-1 defeat at Celtic Glasgow - the fourth defeat in the fourth Champions League game - Rose addressed the team in the hotel. On Thursday, he ordered a day of rest. He wanted to give the players confidence and remind them of their qualities. But "we also have to talk turkey and address the things that didn't work out."

Winter transfers not necessary

Against Gladbach, Rose will have to compensate for the next loss in defense. Lutsharel Geertruida is out, as is Castello Lukeba. Benjamin Henrichs is also questionable with a calf problem. The international would be the sixth regular player to be injured and could also miss the upcoming international matches.

Despite the small squad, the club is not reliant on new signings in the winter. Long-term injuries to Xaver Schlager, Xavi Simons and David Raum will return, while Geertruida and Lukeba are also not expected to be out for long.
