RB Leipzig want to take revenge for two previous defeats in the Bundesliga match against Wolfsburg. Goalkeeper Gulacsi emphasizes the importance of the three points for the table situation.

RB Leipzig are looking for revenge in their Bundesliga match against VfL Wolfsburg on Saturday (3.30pm/Sky). Goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi said on Tuesday after the Saxons' training session. "We lost there twice and are now determined to get the three points. Not just for our position in the table, but because we want to show that we've learned from the two games. It won't be easy, but we showed in Freiburg that we have the quality," said Gulacsi.

RB had lost 2-1 in Wolfsburg in the first half of the season and had already been eliminated as defending champions in the second round of the DFB Cup with a 1-0 defeat in the Autostadt. Since Gulacsi returned as RB's number one goalkeeper following his cruciate ligament rupture in February, they have not lost in the Bundesliga. "That's not just down to me. After a difficult start to 2024, we've got ourselves together and become more stable. We don't concede much defensively. Of course, it's nice that we haven't lost a Bundesliga game with me in goal. We can keep it that way," said the Hungarian international keeper.

Gulacsi believes the battle for the Champions League places will remain open until the final matchday. "We're in fourth place now, which is where we want to be at the end. But we haven't achieved anything yet, there are still a lot of games with the direct duel against Dortmund," said Gulacsi.

At the start of the new training week, coach Marco Rose had the full squad with him apart from the injured Yussuf Poulsen. In addition to Poulsen, he will also be without international David Raum against Wolfsburg. The left-back picked up his fifth yellow card in last Saturday's 4-1 defeat at SC Freiburg and will have to sit out.
