Accident due to black ice: traffic lights destroyed in Stollberg

A 41-year-old man has destroyed a traffic light system in Stollberg in an accident caused by black ice. The man was only slightly injured in the accident on the B180, police said on Friday night. According to the report, he lost control of his car at the junction of the B169 in the direction of the nearby highway due to the icy conditions and crashed into the traffic lights. The vehicle overturned and, like the traffic lights, was badly damaged. The trailer had also overturned and scattered the loaded wood pellets on the road. The B180 was temporarily closed for cleaning work. The material damage amounted to around 20,000 euros.
