The handball players of BSV Sachsen Zwickau have reached the second round of the DHB Cup. The Bundesliga club came out on top today at second-division club TG Nürtingen 33:22 (15:11). New signing Arwen Gorb (7/1 goals), Lea-Sophie Walkowiak (4/1) and Laura Szabo (4/2) played the biggest part in the team from Saxony advancing. Julia Symanzik (8/4) and Michelle Schafer (5) scored the most goals for Nürtingen.
Only in the opening spell was Nürtingen able to hold its own against the favorites and led 6:5 after a quarter of an hour. Zwickau tied the scores at 7:7 three minutes later and pulled four goals in front by half-time (10:7 in the 21st minute). After the break, the home side's strength waned and it made a number of technical mistakes. The Bundesliga club was particularly convincing in its fast-paced play and was ahead by ten goals for the first time at 24:14 (43').
