Dresden volleyball players win in Stuttgart

The Dresden SC volleyball players celebrated their second win in the third match of the Bundesliga intermediate round. Alexander Waibl's team prevailed 3:2 (25:22, 20:25, 25:21, 20:25, 15:10) in a hard-fought match at Allianz MTV Stuttgart. The team in third place in the table thus collected two important points on Sunday. It was the third five-set match in this intermediate round for the team from the city on the Elbe.

The team from Saxony started the match with great concentration and was able to put the Champions League participants under pressure with the tasks and in attack. The home side, who rested its exceptional player Krystal Rivers in this game, got into the game better in the second half. They minimized their mistakes and attacker Jolien Knollema in particular was able to overcome the DSC block time and again.

In the third set, Dresden fought back from a four-point deficit and kept its nerve in the decisive phase. However, Stuttgart stepped up the pressure again in the fourth set and equalized. In the decisive tie-break, however, DSC had the greater reserves of strength against the defending champions, who are still in demand in the quarter-finals of the Champions League and next Sunday's cup final. After 125 minutes, Larissa Winter converted the first match point for the visitors with a serve.
