"Compact" ban: Investigation against 50-year-old in Pirna

Following the banning of "Compact" magazine and Conspect Film GmbH, which have been classified as right-wing extremist by the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution, the Saxony State Criminal Police Office (LKA) is investigating a 50-year-old man in Pirna. Officers from the so-called Soko Rex have been searching residential and business premises since the early hours of the morning, according to the LKA. The law enforcement agency of the LKA is carrying out the necessary measures to enforce and implement a ban on the association. According to the information provided, possible evidence was seized.

Widespread raids in several federal states

In Brandenburg, Hesse and Saxony-Anhalt, the police also searched the properties and homes of leading players. The aim of the raid was to confiscate assets and evidence, according to a statement. The ban announced by Federal Minister of the Interior Nancy Faeser (SPD) prohibits any continuation of previous activities. Violations of this are criminal offenses.

"Compact" as a mouthpiece of the right-wing extremist scene

Faeser justified the ban by stating that "Compact" is a "central mouthpiece of the right-wing extremist scene". She said: "This magazine incites hatred against Jews, against people with a history of migration and against our parliamentary democracy in an unspeakable way." The ban shows "that we are also taking action against the intellectual arsonists who are stirring up a climate of hatred and violence against refugees and migrants and want to overcome our democratic state".

Dangerous networks and propaganda

According to the LKA, the association and its sub-organization are directed against the constitutional order. It propagates anti-Semitic, racist, anti-minority, historical revisionist and conspiracy theory content and spreads it with distorted and manipulative representations. In addition, the members are closely networked with the right-wing scene.
