The Leipzig Bach Festival promises personal encounters with the world-famous composer at next year's festival - at least almost. Augmented reality will bring Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750) back to life virtually in harpsichord concerts with conversations, the organizers announced. Advance tickets for the Bach Festival from June 12 to 22, 2025 go on sale today.
The classical music festival will be held under the motto "Transformations". The focus will be on works that demonstrate Bach's versatility. For the first time, the Bach Festival program will include more than 200 events.
This year, 76,000 guests attended the Bach Festival - 6,000 more than last year. According to the organizers, the capacity of the main concerts was 90 percent, that of the Bach churches 95 percent.
