City of Plauen prepares sandbags due to heavy rain

Because of the predicted heavy rainfall, the city of Plauen in the Vogtland district has prepared sandbags that can be collected by prior arrangement. "We ask you not to drive to the site spontaneously. We are working in order of priority and are therefore asking all citizens who need sandbags to register in advance," said the head of the public fire department on Friday. During the course of the day, an online registration system will be activated for coordination purposes.

People can also register via the citizens' telephone. Depending on availability, situation and urgency, the fire department operations center will decide when and how many sandbags can be collected. This will be communicated to those making inquiries by telephone.
