FC Erzgebirge Aue suffered its first home defeat of the season. In front of 10,533 spectators at the home Erzgebirgsstadion, the third-division soccer team lost 0:1 (0:0) to Jahn Regensburg. Robin Ziegele brought the guests in the 74th minute by a header goal the victory.
In the first half, the FCE started with the better chances. Marvin Stefaniak (10th) had the first big chance on the foot, which could be defused by Regensburg goalkeeper Felix Gebhardt, however. After the first quarter of an hour, Jahn Regensburg got into the game better and had two good chances through Noah Ganaus (25th and 27th). Shortly before the break, Maximilian Thiel, who started for Marcel Bär, who was absent due to illness, had the best chance of the game until then. His header could be deflected by Gebhardt just past the post.
In the second half, Ganaus (48th) from Regensburg had his third strong chance right at the start, his shot slapped against the crossbar. However, Regensburg remained stronger offensively and had the better scoring chances before they were rewarded in the 74th minute by Ziegele with the 1:0. He headed the ball past FCE keeper Martin Männel after a corner. In the last minute of stoppage time, substitute Luc Elsner then had the equalizer on his foot. However, Gebhardt again managed to steer the ball past the post.
Now an English week is on the agenda and already on Wednesday it goes on for the violets at Preußen Münster.
