A man was hit by a truck and suffered life-threatening injuries in an accident on the Autobahn 14 near Halle on Sunday. He had been standing in his car on the hard shoulder between the Halle-Trotha and -Tornau junctions and stepped onto the road after getting out, according to a police spokeswoman. The truck hit him there. It is not yet known whether he had stopped due to a breakdown or whether there was another reason.
The man had to be resuscitated, the spokeswoman said. It is currently unclear whether he will survive. The accident investigation is ongoing. The spokeswoman did not provide any further details for the time being.
