Kretschmer promotes Saxony in Paris

Minister President Michael Kretschmer (CDU) wants to promote Saxony's economic cooperation and friendship with France during a visit to Paris. During the two-day trip, the Free State will host a reception on Wednesday together with the German ambassador to mark the Day of German Unity, as the Saxon State Chancellery in Dresden announced on Tuesday. Kretschmer will also meet with representatives of the French business community.

Whether there, in culture or research, "we only move forward in Europe if we have strong and reliable partners at our side," he said in advance. This includes France in particular, he said, with which Saxony has maintained close relations for years that are constantly growing stronger, most recently through cooperation in the field of microelectronics. "Personal exchange opens many doors."

The program includes a visit to the world's largest start-up campus, "Station F," along with an exchange about opportunities for networking with Saxony's start-up landscape. Also planned is a discussion with Economics Minister Bruno Le Maire on the expansion of relations, for example in the field of microelectronics and hydrogen, as well as a visit to the Franco-German Business Day. Kretschmer will be accompanied by, among others, his minister for science and research, Sebastian Gemkow (CDU), members of the state parliament and the Saxony Economic Development Agency.
