Saxony plans to provide millions in funding to further innovation alliances between industry and science. Up to three projects will be supported over a period of up to ten years, the Ministry of Economic Affairs announced on Monday. Up to five million euros are available for each project. Innovative projects from the fields of industry of the future, energy, mobility and health are being sought. Applications can be submitted to the Sächsische Aufbaubank until mid-August. The aim is to initiate and support the transfer of knowledge into marketable solutions, explained Minister of Economic Affairs Martin Dulig (SPD). "Transformation can only succeed with innovation!"
The state had already launched calls for funding for such innovation clusters in 2017 and 2021. For example, initiatives for the circular economy ("Circular Saxony"), rail technology ("Set4Future") and hydrogen ("Wasserstoffland Sachsen") received support.
