The suspension railroad and funicular in Dresden will each be out of service for two weeks during the annual fall overhaul in November. This was announced by the Dresden transport authority on Wednesday. According to the statement, the suspension railroad will be closed from November 6 to November 17 inclusive. The funicular closes from November 20 to December 1.

The suspension railroad connects the Dresden districts of Loschwitz and Oberloschwitz. With the revision one wants to prepare the two railroads among other things for the winter, "so that also in the cold months a safe operation is ensured", said spokesman Falk Lösch. In the case of the monorail, for example, the 33 steel supports and the track girder are to be inspected. In addition, the electrical system and the ropeway control system will also be examined. At the funicular, among other things, an inspection of the haul rope is pending.
