Man sleeps it off on the hard shoulder

A drunk driver in Saxony slept it off in the hard shoulder of a highway, of all places. According to the Zwickau police department, the car was noticed by officers from the highway police station on the A4 near Glauchau on Friday evening. The car was parked on the hard shoulder without hazard warning lights.

During a check, police officers found the 36-year-old driver asleep in the driver's seat. The subsequent breath test revealed a blood alcohol level of just under two per mille. The man also did not have a valid driver's license. He now faces criminal charges for drunk driving and driving without a license.
