The Neisse Film Festival brings together cineastes and productions from three countries. This year there was record interest - the application deadline for the next edition is now open.

The organizers of the Neisse Film Festival in the border triangle are once again looking for feature films, documentaries and short films for next year. For the three competitions of the 22nd edition (May 20-25, 2025), entries that were or will be produced or co-produced in Germany, Poland or the Czech Republic in 2024 and 2025 can be submitted until the end of the year, according to the announcement. The competition films will then be selected from the submissions.

Neisse fish as prizes

Ten Neisse fish will be awarded again in 2025, with prize money totaling 25,500 euros. The sculptures, designed by artist Andreas Kupfer, will be awarded to the best films in each category and the audience favorites, the best acting performance, the best screenplay and the best production design. There is a special prize for the film from the festival program "that approaches other countries and cultures with respect and thus paves the way for dialogue".

Record number of applications

This year, over 900 applications were received, more than ever before. The Neisse Film Festival has been presenting current feature films, documentaries and short films in the region between Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic every May since 2004. What began with the idea of showing films in three countries has developed into a cultural bridge for film fans from these neighboring countries - and is also an important meeting place for the national and international film scene and the film industry.
