German actress Sandra Hüller ("Toni Erdmann") has won the Gilde Film Prize. The 45-year-old was awarded the honorary prize, as announced by AG Kino - Gilde Deutscher Filmkunsttheater at the close of the Leipzig Film Art Fair on Thursday. "The Theory of Everything" by director Timm Kroeger made the running as best German film. "The Zone of Interest" by Jonathan Glazer, in which Hüller plays a leading role, and Wim Wenders' "Perfect Days" were chosen by the jury as best international films.

An award for best documentary went to "Lars Eidinger - Sein oder nicht Sein" by Reiner Holzemer. Since 1977, German art house cinemas have used the award to thank filmmakers and distributors who inspire audiences with "exceptional productions and gripping stories," according to the statement.
