Emotional moments at Heino's concert: a good two weeks after the death of his wife Hannelore, the singer (84) began his church tour "Die Himmel rühmen" (Praise the heavens) in Dresden's Kreuzkirche on Friday evening. He mainly sang sacred and contemplative songs and was moved to tears at times, as reported by "Bild" and RTL. He dedicated the concert to Hannelore.
"I always look for Hannelore in the front row because she sat there at all my concerts," the media outlet quoted the singer as saying. "And then I can't find her and I realize that she'll never sit there again. That breaks my heart."
The singer and actress Hannelore Kramm died on November 8 at the age of 82. She was remembered at the concert: a large portrait of her, a lit candle with "Hannelore" written on it and a bouquet of 44 red roses for 44 years of marriage to Heino stood at the edge of the stage.
He told Bild that Hannelore "would have wanted me to do this performance. Even if it's anything but easy for me". Heino promised: "I will continue the tour with another 15 dates. It's the best way to thank my Hannelore for the happiness of my life."
