Loneliness often affects senior citizens. Personalized school mail is intended to bring joy to nursing homes during Advent.

Residents of retirement and nursing homes as well as hospice facilities will receive Christmas mail from schoolchildren this Advent season. Around 2,000 personalized letters will be distributed throughout Saxony in the near future, according to the Johanniter. The Christmas post is intended to help combat loneliness and strengthen the sense of community between young and old. The project is being implemented jointly by the University of Leipzig, students and the Johanniter.
