Loneliness can affect anyone. With a poster campaign, the state capital wants to show people how they can free themselves from it.

The city of Dresden wants to draw attention to the issue of loneliness with a poster campaign. From Tuesday, 100 posters with the slogan "HEY YOU, want to do something together?" will be on display in the city for two weeks, according to the Saxon state capital. "Loneliness is a quiet, difficult feeling that can affect anyone and can creep deep into a person's life," said Social Mayor Kristin Klaudia Kaufmann (Left Party). Loneliness can occur at any age, usually after a move, after the loss of a loved one, due to social insecurities or in phases of change.

According to Kaufmann, the campaign is about showing people ways to avoid suffering from this feeling. Current information and offers are presented on the website dresden.de/einsam. They are aimed both at people who are affected by loneliness themselves and at people who want to help those affected. Tips include meeting and counseling services supported by the city, volunteer work, associations and educational offers.
