Various projects aim to improve cooperation in the Saxon-Czech border region. The EU is supporting these efforts with a lot of money.

Twelve projects in the Saxon-Czech border region will receive millions in funding from the EU. Around 8.9 million euros will be made available from the "Interreg Saxony - Czech Republic" program, as announced by the Ministry of Infrastructure.

Funding will be provided, for example, for cooperation between emergency services in the region of Usti nad Labem and in the district of Bautzen. In the border region, emergency services often arrive at a particular location more quickly from the other side of the border. The "Rescue service without borders" project aims to improve communication and coordination between the rescue coordination centers.

The "Umgebinde 2.0" project, which is dedicated to the region's building culture, is also receiving support. The aim is to improve the marketing of the Umgebinde region to tourists. A marketing strategy is to be developed for this purpose.
