The AfD has clearly won the federal election in Saxony. The party, which has been classified by the State Office for the Protection of the Constitution as a confirmed right-wing extremist party, achieved 37.3 percent after all constituencies were counted, according to data from the state election administrator. This puts it well ahead of the CDU in second place with 19.7 percent.
