The Sahra Wagenknecht Alliance (BSW) in Saxony does not believe that the failure in the Bundestag elections will have any serious impact on the work of the Saxon BSW state association. The association has its own state executive committee, its own statutes and is economically independent, explained deputy party leader Ronny Kupke in Dresden. "I don't believe that this is the end of the BSW." The party is needed, even if it was not enough for the Bundestag elections.
"There are still state elections coming up. There are three state parliaments where the BSW is well represented, and we simply want to build on this and continue successfully," emphasized Kupke. "We are just getting started."
It is still unclear what role Sahra Wagenknecht will play in the future. According to Kupke, she has a strong charisma. With the founding of the BSW regional associations, strong personalities would first have to make a name for themselves there. This will now be the task with the founding of district associations.
