Significantly fewer state lists were received by the state returning officer this year.

19 parties submitted their state lists for the Bundestag election by the deadline in Saxony. These include all seven parties represented in the Bundestag, according to a statement from the state election director Martin Richter. Compared to the 2021 election, the number of submissions fell by seven.

The documents had to be received by the state election officer in Kamenz by Monday evening at 6.00 pm. "Some used the available time right up to the last day," said Richter. The list of the European party Volt was the first to arrive, the Pirate Party the last.

The state election committee will decide on the approval of the state lists on Friday. A decision will then also be made on the district election proposals, i.e. the candidates for direct mandates, for the 16 Saxon parliamentary constituencies.
