The Sahra Wagenknecht Alliance has established its first state association in Saxony. "The BSW has been founded and now we are continuing to develop. We are growing and we are stabilizing in all states," said BSW co-chair Amira Mohamed Ali on Saturday after the party was founded in Chemnitz. The founding of the first BSW state association makes her very proud. Wagenknecht herself was not present at the general meeting with around 60 participants.
The BSW had already formed as a federal party in January. Now it is to be anchored in the federal states.
By founding the state association, the party is sending an important signal to the entire country. "We are ready to run in the upcoming elections," said Mohamed Ali.
In Saxony, the new party also wants to run in the local elections in June and in the state elections at the beginning of September. The Saxon state association is to be led by a dual leadership in future: the former Left Party member of parliament Sabine Zimmermann and the entrepreneur Jörg Scheibe.
