An Afghan criminal from Saxony is also on the deportation flight that took off from Leipzig on Friday morning. This was stated by a spokesperson for the Saxon Ministry of the Interior. This was the first deportation flight from Germany to Afghanistan since the Taliban took power three years ago. This had previously been reported by "Der Spiegel". The dpa confirmed "Spiegel" information that a Qatar Airways charter jet took off from Leipzig at 6.56 a.m. bound for Kabul. According to the report, the Boeing 787 was carrying 28 Afghan criminals who had been brought to Leipzig from various German states. The operation was organized under the leadership of the Federal Ministry of the Interior.
