The Saxon aircraft noise protection officer Jörg Puchmüller is now also dealing with matters in Saxony-Anhalt. The joint contact should ensure a constructive dialog between all parties involved, said Saxony-Anhalt Infrastructure Minister Lydia Hüskens (FDP). Saxony's Transport Minister Martin Dulig (SPD) said that this would improve communication in the region.
The role was created in 2021 to give greater weight to noise and environmental protection at Leipzig/Halle and Dresden airports. According to the information provided, Puchmüller is the central point of contact for people living near the airports and their citizens' initiatives, the aircraft noise commissions, the aviation industry, the authorities, German air traffic control and the airport operators.
The representative is subject to the technical supervision of the Saxon ministry, but works independently and neutrally, it said. There are offices in Leipzig and Dresden as contact points.
