Dresdner SC's volleyball players have continued their winning streak and remain unbeaten in the Bundesliga after their fourth match. After a weak start, the team of coach Alexander Waibl won 3:1 (20:25, 26:24, 25:22, 25:20) at VC Wiesbaden in the end.
The hosts got off to the better start in front of 1183 spectators, serving well, scoring from a stable reception and being very compact in defense. In contrast, not much came together for the DSC women.
The six-time German champions also quickly fell behind in the second period and made many easy mistakes. It was only when the DSC coach brought on Larissa Winter for the slightly injured Sarah Straube and Eva Zatkovic on the diagonal for the previous top scorer Marta Levinska that things turned around.
Equalizer after fending off five set points
After trailing 9:19, the Dresden side started a comeback, stabilized its reception and above all its block and court defense and fought its way back into the game point by point. With great morale, they fended off five set points in the end and then took the first chance of their own.
The third and fourth sets were also contested, but the DSC women kept their composure and overview in the decisive phases. After 107 minutes, Victoria Demidova converted the first match point to win. Eva Zatkovic was named the best player, the Slovenian international scoring 17 points.
