The Dresden SC women's volleyball team completed their compulsory task against bottom of the table Schwarz-Weiß Erfurt with ease and won 3:0 (25:18, 25:16, 25:16) in front of 2,801 spectators.
At the start of sets one and two, the Thuringians, who were still without points, kept up well at times. However, after a few teething problems, particularly in attack, the home side dictated proceedings with a powerful service game and solid reception and defense, while Erfurt made a few easy mistakes.
As a result, DSC Head Coach Alexander Waibl was able to afford to give all players from the bench time on court in the course of the second and third periods. After just 64 minutes, Nathalie Lemmens converted the third match ball to secure a deserved victory. Slovenian attacker Lorena Lorber Fijok was named DSC's most valuable player and also proved to be the most successful scorer with 13 points.
