For the first time in 20 years, Dynamo Dresden won at 1. FC Saarbrücken. The team of coach Thomas Stamm won 4:1 (2:1) at the Saarland club and thus regained the lead in the 3rd Football League, which Arminia Bielefeld had conquered the day before with a 4:0 win against Hansa Rostock.
Christoph Daferner (3rd minute) put Dynamo ahead. Bjarne Thoelke (11th) increased the lead with an own goal before Sven Sonnenberg (21st) scored the equalizer. After the break, Niklas Hauptmann (56) and Dominik Kother (67) scored for the Elbe club.
After the disappointing 1-0 draw at home to Osnabrück, Dynamo coach Stamm made changes to five positions, including Vinko Sapina, who was recently suspended with a yellow card. He also initiated the first attack. He served Jakob Lemmer, who took the ball to the penalty spot, where Daferner shot the ball straight into the corner from a turn (3rd). But it was to get worse for Saarland, who were unbeaten in four games. After a cross from the left by Sascha Risch, the ball slipped over Thoelke's instep as he attempted to clear (11').
Dynamo fail to score an empty goal
The team of FCS coach Rüdiger Ziehl reacted in shock, but got back into the game when Sonnenberg (21) headed into the far corner. In stoppage time, Dynamo suddenly had three chances in a row after a defensive blunder by Sonnenberg, but the Saxons failed to hit the empty net. So did Daferner from two meters. Hauptmann did better seconds later, hammering a 20-meter shot straight into the corner (56'). Kothers' shot to make it 4:1 (67') was deflected by Calogero Rizzuto.
