Bundesliga club RB Leipzig has signed midfielder Arthur Vermeeren on a permanent deal until 2029. The loan signing from Atletico Madrid is subject to a purchase obligation after a corresponding number of appearances, which the summer signing has now already achieved. In addition to the loan fee of three million euros, an additional 20 million euros will be due for the permanent signing.
"What we all hoped for from Arthur's transfer has come true: he has quickly settled in with us, played a lot of minutes and has become a reliable figure in our midfield," said Sporting Director Marcel Schäfer.
The Belgian international has played 22 competitive matches for RB in the Bundesliga, cup and Champions League so far. Vermeeren scored an assist last weekend against Werder Bremen.
"I've felt very comfortable in Leipzig since day one. Also, and above all, in terms of my sporting development, what those responsible showed me when I moved in the summer has worked out," said the young professional, "I have the opportunity to develop over many minutes of play and help the team on the pitch."
