Bundesliga club RB Leipzig are not looking for a replacement for injured international David Raum. "No, that was never an issue for a second. From our point of view, we can compensate for this within the team and still feel we are well positioned," said sporting director Marcel Schäfer to the TV channel "Sky". Raum suffered a ligament injury in the last Bundesliga match at 1 FC Heidenheim (1-0) and has since undergone surgery.
Ahead of the Saxons' next match on Saturday (3.30pm/Sky) at 1 FSV Mainz 05, Schäfer emphasized how satisfied Leipzig are with the work of coach Marco Rose. "Marco has already won titles with RB Leipzig as a native of Leipzig. He is very meticulous and works down to the last detail. When you see how much heart, passion and energy he puts into his work on the touchline, it shows us that we need a coach like him to achieve the maximum. We are convinced that we have the right coach in Marco Rose."
RB are still unbeaten in the Bundesliga, level on points with leaders FC Bayern Munich in second place. In the Champions League, however, they have lost their first two matches. After two wins in the DFB Cup and a Super Cup success so far, Leipzig are aiming for more titles. "You shouldn't set yourself any limits. We know that we can compete for titles and that's our ambition. But we also know that everything has to work for that. We want to compete for titles, so a lot of factors have to fall into place," said Schäfer.
