ThSV Eisenach suffered its third defeat in a row after a tough battle. The Bundesliga handball club lost 26:28 (11:13) at TSV Hannover-Burgdorf. Filip Vistorop, who has been playing for Eisenach since this season, was the best scorer with seven goals, including a seven-meter penalty.
Eisenach was always a little behind in the first half, but did not lose touch. Eisenach goalkeeper Silvio Heinevetter in particular kept his team in the game with a strong save rate of 50 percent in the first half. As a result, the club from Wartburg only trailed by a narrow margin at the break (11:13).
The club from Thuringia then equalized for the first time in the 38th minute (15:15). However, this was followed by a setback: Captain Peter Walz was shown a red card after an unsportsmanlike foul and had to leave the court.
Eisenach only let the game slip out of its grasp in the final five minutes due to too many missed shots. The Eisenach team failed to score for a good six minutes in the final phase.
