At the end of their training camp week, the Violets were beaten by FC Aarau.

Third division soccer team Erzgebirge Aue lost their second test match during the winter training camp in Turkey. The team of new coach Jens Härtel was beaten 1:2 (1:0) by Swiss first division club FC Aarau in Lara. Kilian Jakob gave Auer the lead after 25 minutes. Henri Koide (49) and Colin Odutayo (78) from the penalty spot turned the game around in the second half.

Härtel largely fielded the same team for around an hour that is likely to line up for the second-round opener at Hannover 96 II on January 17 (19:00/MagentaSport). He then made a total of nine changes.
