Does RB keep up their streak against Holstein Kiel?
RB Leipzig have never lost to a promoted team since joining the Bundesliga. The clash against Holstein Kiel is the 34th match against a newcomer to the league. So far, there have been 30 wins and three draws.
Reliable Willi Orban
The captain leads the way at RB Leipzig. Not only as a tough defender, but also as a goalscorer. The Hungarian international has already scored four times this season. This makes him the most dangerous defender in the league.
Kiel's weakness at home
Six home games, five defeats: No other Bundesliga team has lost as many games in front of a home crowd as KSV Holstein Kiel this season. However, their only Bundesliga win to date came at home in a 1-0 victory over 1. FC Heidenheim. RB's four recent away defeats in the Bundesliga and Champions League offer hope for the northern Germans.
The last time Kiel faced Leipzig was ten years ago
Holstein Kiel and RB Leipzig have played each other six times for points. The last time they met was on February 22, 2014, when RB won 2-0 in the 3rd division in Kiel. Overall, the record speaks for the Saxons: four wins compared to two defeats.
Leipzig's defensive problems
In the last two Bundesliga games in Hoffenheim and against Wolfsburg, Leipzig's previously solid defense fell apart. After conceding just five goals in the first ten matchdays, goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi then had to make nine saves. The clean sheet against Frankfurt in the cup should give RB's defenders new confidence.
