In their last home game of the year, third-division soccer team FC Erzgebirge Aue only managed a draw. The score was 1:1 (1:0) on Saturday evening against MSV Duisburg, who are currently 19th in the table. Borys Tashchy had put the home side ahead (29') before Niklas Kölle equalized in the second half (61').
Without head coach Pavel Dotchev, who was only allowed to sit in the stands following his yellow card for complaining in the 2-2 draw at Bielefeld last weekend, the Saxons initially dominated proceedings. However, Aue were unable to capitalize on numerous good opportunities in the early stages, while the visitors got into the game better and better. After just under half an hour, however, FCE striker Tashchy put the ball in the net after a fine individual move.
The second half of the occasionally entertaining encounter was evenly poised, which was reflected in the score when Kelle scored. Despite good chances on both sides, the score ultimately remained 1-1.
