RB Leipzig's women's soccer team conceded its next defeat in the Bundesliga. Against cup winner VfL Wolfsburg, the Leipzig women lost 0:2 (0:1) on Sunday. In front of 10,269 spectators in the arena - a Saxon record for a women's club game - the promoted team kept up for a long time before Ewa Pajor made it 1-0 after 38 minutes. In the 79th minute, substitute Vivien Endemann scored the decider after a counterattack. After four match days RB has thus only one victory on his account.
20 minutes RB was an equal opponent, who also tried again and again to set offensive accents. Wolfsburg could not cope with the high pressing at first. Only late on did the Wolves realize that they could create danger with long passes over the defense. This is how the lead came about. Jule Brand initially failed to beat Elvira Meier, who reacted well in the RB goal, but Pajor finally tucked in the rebound. Offensively, the hosts had little dangerous to offer. They tried it with distance shots, which missed their goal however again and again.
From the break the Leipzigerinnen came with new courage and had by Jenny Hipp (48.) also a large chance, which thwarted however Lisa Schmitz in the VfL goal reaktionsschnell. Ten minutes later, the Saxons also had a good opportunity through Luca Graf. In the 65th minute, referee Katrin Rafalski overlooked a clear handball by national player Martina Hegering in the penalty area. Despite a number of prominent substitutions, VfL did not play much in the second half. It wasn't until Endemann scored on the counterattack that the visitors had a chance or two. RB did not put up and had through Marlene Müller (81.) the opportunity to connect, but she also failed to Schmitz.
