Football coach and ex-professional Timo Rost is taking a new path after his last coaching position. Following his leave of absence from FC Erzgebirge Aue in September 2022, the 46-year-old founded a company together with business partner Maria Englert that has developed an energy drink. During his time as a professional at RB Leipzig, he was inspired by Red Bull founder Dietrich Mateschitz "and so the idea developed to try something in this direction," Rost told the Märkische Oder-Zeitung newspaper.
According to Rost, the energy drink called "Seaven Heaven" is intended to help young athletes achieve their goals under the motto "Do it your way". After almost two years of developing the drink and overcoming the bureaucratic hurdles, Rost has already found his first brand ambassador in Leonardo Bittencourt from Werder Bremen. Rost played together with his father Franklin at Energie Cottbus. Further brand ambassadors are to follow in the coming months.
In addition to the company launch, Rost is also tempted by a new role on the sidelines. After his time in Aue, he deliberately took time to reflect and build up the new company, but now he is tingling: "It's slowly getting going again."
