15-year-old led through Leipzig for hours, robbed and humiliated - 16-year-old Syrian in custody

As the police only announced today, Monday, a 15-year-old was at the streetcar stop in Annaberger Straße in the north-west of Leipzig last Thursday. He was asked to hand over his jacket, headphones and cash by a group of young people he did not know. Out of fear, he complied. They then forced him to get on the streetcar (line 11). During the journey, the robbed man was beaten several times by the group. They got off at Connewitzer Kreuz and walked in the direction of Prinz-Eugen-Straße to the skating rink there. At around 11:30 p.m., part of the group took the 15-year-old on line 9 to the main station and walked in the direction of the zoo. There he was threatened again and told to get a cell phone from his apartment. They then snatched his own phone from his hand. He then called the police from his apartment. At around 00:30 a.m., the officers were able to apprehend two suspects (15 and 16, both male and Syrian) in the vicinity based on their personal description. Both are already known to the police for similar offenses. An on-call public prosecutor ordered the provisional arrest of the 16-year-old suspect. Some of the stolen goods were also found on him. He was taken to central police custody. The younger suspect was taken home. On Friday, an investigating judge confirmed the arrest of the 16-year-old and ordered him to be remanded in custody
