RB Leipzig coach Marco Rose has taken up the cudgels for youth development in Germany following the successful U17 World Cup. "It wasn't so long ago that our young players were at the bottom and we had huge problems. Now we have the chance to win two titles," said the 47-year-old. "That shows that things aren't so bad after all. You shouldn't always reduce everything to rubble."
The German team will face France on Saturday (13:00 live/RTL). Coach Christian Wück's team, which also includes Leipzig's Winners Osawe, reached the final after beating the USA, Spain and Argentina. In June, they had already become European champions in Budapest by beating France.
"It could be two titles for the boys within six months. That's quite extraordinary. We'll have a special look at them," said Rose. The coach and his staff in England had watched the semi-final against Argentina "on cell phones and tablets" before the game at Manchester City. "The boys have a very broad chest. We hope they get their reward."
