The commanding cup win over Eintracht Frankfurt should only be the start of a turnaround at RB Leipzig. In the Bundesliga match at newly promoted KSV Holstein Kiel, coach Marco Rose is therefore demanding a similar performance from his team with a corresponding result. "We made a good start with Frankfurt. Not everything was scary and bad in the weeks before that, and not everything is great again straight away. We have to stay alert and perform," said Rose.
Against an opponent who, according to the RB coach, has accepted the fight to stay in the league, it is important to perform at exactly the same level as the Frankfurt game. "Exactly with the intensity, exactly with the focus, exactly with the courageous play in certain situations and exactly with the switching. All of that can bring us success," said Rose, whose team has failed to win five times in the league recently.
Still unresolved personnel issues
The Leipzig side can call on the personnel that impressed against Eintracht. The coach left it open as to whether Rose will stick with the same formation or whether he will bring back a healthy Lukas Klostermann to replace Niklas Seiwald in defense.
In any case, Peter Gulacsi will return in goal. "The future belongs to Maarten Vandevoordt here, but in the present and in the near and medium future, Pete is a very important factor for us," emphasized the coach. Kevin Kampl, who is still slightly injured, will travel to Kiel.
