Dynamo Dresden wins 2:1 against SpVgg Unterhaching

Third division soccer team Dynamo Dresden can still win after all. After three recent defeats, the Saxons beat SpVgg Unterhaching 2:1 (1:1). Jakob Lemmer (32) put the home side ahead in front of 25,272 spectators on Sunday evening. Nine minutes later, Dresden defender Claudio Kammerknecht was sent off for a deliberate handball in the penalty area. Patrick Hobsch (41) converted the resulting penalty. While the visitors were unable to take advantage of their numerical superiority, Dresden captain Stefan Kutschke (75) scored the winner for the hosts from the penalty spot.

In the first half hour, both teams largely neutralized each other in midfield. While the visitors concentrated predominantly on defensive work, SGD did try to add playful elements. As in previous weeks, however, the struggling Saxons achieved little. Lemmer's goal was the result of the first consistent attack of the match. Even the opening goal did not really give SGD any stability. It was only in the second half and with the home side short-handed that they fought their way back into the game. The winning goal by Kutschke was deserved, also because the newly promoted team from Unterhaching showed far too little initiative. Apart from the huge chance created by ex-Dresden player Matthias Fetsch (90'), there was a lack of clear attacking action.
